Aurelian

Born around 214 CE in the province of Illyricum, Aurelian rose through the military ranks during a period of chaos known as the Crisis of the Third Century. As emperor, he crushed internal revolts, reconquered the breakaway Gallic and Palmyrene Empires, and earned the title Restitutor Orbis—“Restorer of the World.” A disciplined and pragmatic leader, he reasserted central authority and stabilized the empire, setting the stage for its later recovery under Diocletian
