Civilization:

Colonial America

Born in London in 1653 and later settling in Massachusetts, Parris became minister of Salem Village at a time of deep religious tension and community division. His rigid preaching and suspicion of dissenters fueled fear and moral panic when accusations of witchcraft spread among his congregation. As a leader, he was zealous and uncompromising, embodying the dangers of religious extremism and the breakdown of trust in colonial New England.
