Simón Bolívar

Type of Leader:

Revolutionary

Civilization:

Gran Colombia

As a leader, Bolívar combined relentless personal determination with an acute sense of history, seeing himself as both a liberator and a founder of nations. He inspired loyalty through charisma, shared hardship, and a powerful moral vision of independence, even as he ruled with increasing authority during wartime. His greatest strength, the ability to hold together fragile coalitions across vast regions, also became his tragedy when political divisions ultimately shattered the unity he fought to preserve.
